[Review][Single] U-KISS – “Tick Tack”

If U-KISS were armed with the same material and driving force they utilized in 2011 as opposed to what they had to work with in 2009, they’d be huge by now. Their overall improvement has been so incredibly big in the last year that it’s hard to express in words how impressed I am. They’re literally not even the same boy band anymore, and I’m okay with that.

Earlier this year, U-KISS replaced two of their band members (dead weights Alexander and Kibum) with fresh meat (hotties AJ and Hoon). In a music scene where fans are frighteningly attached to their favorite celebrities, it was a really big risk to take, not to mention one that came almost a full two years after debut. However, it ended up being a move of absolute genius, and here’s why: the noobs are actually useful!

AJ and Hoon play their roles as rapper and vocalist so supremely better than the former members that the group as a whole finally found its balance, moved forward musically, and began to release material with some sense of substance. Case in point, “Tick Tack
