Note: all the bullshit below was written during the first few EXO teasers.

As a way to keep track of SM Entertainment‘s forthcoming boy band, EXO (K and M), I’ve decided to gather and organize all of their teasers released so far, just because. Taking into account that EXO has recently been revealed to be a 12 member unit, I don’t find it super surprising that SM is teasing the hell out of the group. I mean, it’s never not a big deal when SM debuts a group and since SM hasn’t released an original unit since 2009 with flop girl group f(x), I’m welcoming the relentless teasing with open arms at the moment.

Contrary to group think, I’m not completely annoyed by the fact that SM is spam-trolling with member Kai, particularly because they’ve made it pretty obvious that they have multiple member-teasers in their queue. So as many teasers we see released of Kai, SM will probably release at least a couple more for the rest of the members too. I don’t think SM’s full intentions are to force Kai down our throats as it is to introduce each member in full segments. Obviously, SM’s organization skills are pretty poor seeing as they’re leaving huge gaps between the first teasers of the non-Kai members, but I have no doubt that SM has staggered a slew of them for Tao, Se Hun, Lu Han, [insert next member up for auction] for the near future.

What I’m really excited for though is to hear EXO’s songs in full. SM has clearly dropped pretty pennies for EXO and all of it seems to have gone into the production value of the visuals and, importantly, the music. The audio in these teasers already sound heaps better than what SM’s been doing with Super Junior and SNSD as of late, so I’m cautiously optimistic to hear what is sounding to be a well-thought out musical direction for EXO.
